Our Story

Founded on one simple standard

Maison Cleaning Co was founded by Fabi Alencar and is based right here in Remuera. Five years ago, the business started with a straightforward belief: cleaning done properly, consistently, and with genuine professionalism should be the standard, not the exception.

Since then the scope has grown to include commercial premises, construction sites, and homes across central and eastern Auckland — with a team built around the same principles the business started with: reliability, attention to detail, and discretion.

Every quote follows a look at the actual property — a price given sight-unseen is a guess, and guesses get corrected later.

Size of the homeNumber of rooms and bathrooms does more to set the time than floor area alone.
How oftenWeekly and fortnightly visits cost less per visit than a one-off, because less builds up between them.
Where it starts fromA first clean usually takes longer than the ones that follow. We price that honestly rather than rushing it.
Do I need to be home?
Most of our clients are not. We work with keys, lockboxes or door codes, and because it is the same cleaner every visit you are not letting a different stranger in each week.
What if I need to skip a week?
Just tell us. No lock-in and no cancellation fee — we would rather stay flexible around your holidays than lose you over one missed week.
Do you bring your own products and equipment?
Yes, everything comes with us. If you would rather we used your own products on particular surfaces, leave them out and we will use those instead.
Can you do extras like inside the oven or the windows?
Yes — tell us when you book and we will build it into the visit or quote it as a separate deep clean.

Commercial quotes start with a walk-through of your space, usually within the week. You get a fixed scope and a fixed price, not an hourly guess.

Floor area and layoutAn open floor cleans differently to twelve small consulting rooms. We price what is actually there.
FrequencyNightly, three times a week, weekly — the more regular the visit, the lower the per-visit cost.
Scope and accessWhat is included, and whether we are working after hours with keys and alarm access, which most sites prefer.
Can you clean outside our opening hours?
Yes — that is how most of our commercial work runs. Early morning before you open, or evening after you close, so we never interrupt your day or your clients.
Do we have to sign a contract?
No lock-in. We agree a scope and a frequency, and you can change it or stop it. The work is what keeps the relationship, not the paperwork.
What happens if something gets missed?
You tell your one point of contact and it is put right on the next business day. No ticket system, no chasing.
Do you supply the consumables?

How turnovers are priced, and what hosts ask us

Turnover pricing is per changeover and set once we have seen the property, so you know the cost of every booking gap in advance.

Property sizeBedrooms and bathrooms drive the reset time more than anything else.
Linen handlingWhether you keep linen on site for us to strip and remake, or run a laundry service we coordinate around.
The turnaround windowA four-hour gap between checkout and check-in is a different job to a full free day.
Can you do same-day turnovers?
Yes, where the gap between checkout and check-in allows it. Give us the window and we will tell you honestly whether it is workable rather than promising and running late.
Do you handle the linen?
We strip and remake with linen you keep on site. If you use a laundry service, we work around their drop-off and collection.
What if a guest leaves damage or takes something?
You hear about it straight away, with photos, before the next guest arrives — not in a summary at the end of the month.
Can you restock supplies?
Yes. Leave the consumables on site and we will replace what has been used at every turnover.

What a deep clean costs, and what people ask first

Deep cleans are quoted after seeing the property, because condition matters more than size and neither of us benefits from a number invented over the phone.

Size and number of bathroomsBathrooms and kitchens carry most of the work in a deep clean.
ConditionHow long since the last one is the honest driver. Years of build-up takes longer than months of it.
What is includedInside the oven, interior windows, moving furniture — you choose the scope and we price it.
How long does a deep clean take?
Longer than a regular visit — often most of a day depending on the size and the condition. We will give you a realistic estimate after seeing it, not an optimistic one.
Is it a one-off, or does it repeat?
Either. Plenty of clients book one deep clean to reset the house, then move onto a regular fortnightly or weekly visit to keep it there.
Do you move furniture?
We vacuum and clean behind and under anything that can be moved safely. We will not shift heavy items that risk damaging the piece or the floor.
Can you get old shower glass and grout clean?
Usually, yes — the before and after shots above are real ones. Where a surface is permanently etched or the grout has failed, we will tell you that rather than charge you to find out.

How move-out cleans are priced, and common questions

Move-out cleans are quoted on the property, and booked to your settlement or handover date so the timing is not left to chance.

Size and conditionAn empty property cleans faster, but end-of-tenancy work is more detailed than a regular visit.
The appliance loadOvens and rangehood filters are usually the longest single job in a move-out clean.
Your deadlineHandover dates are fixed. We book around yours rather than fitting you in wherever there is room.
Will it pass the final inspection?
We clean to the standard inspections actually check. If your property manager has a specific checklist, send it through and we will work to that list.
Can you do it around settlement day?
Yes — that is the norm for this work. Tell us the handover date and we will book back from it.
Is carpet cleaning included?
Vacuuming is. Steam or extraction carpet cleaning is a specialist job with different equipment — we will tell you straight and can point you to someone.
Do you clean inside cupboards and drawers?
Yes. On a move-out clean the joinery is cleaned out properly, not just wiped on the fronts.

Most sites need both — a rough clean while trades are still moving, and a full finish before handover.

Stage one

Touch-up between trades

A lighter clean while work is still in progress — dust knocked back, debris cleared, floors kept workable so the next trade isn't working around the last one's mess.

Stage two

Full builder's clean

The complete finish before handover: construction dust off every surface and ledge, windows and tracks, paint and adhesive spots removed, fittings and joinery cleaned inside and out, floors finished last.

Post-construction work is quoted per site and booked to your programme dates, because a handover clean that arrives late is worse than useless.

Yes, from glass, tiles, fittings and hardware, without damaging the finish underneath. That is most of what separates a builder’s clean from a normal one.
Can you work to our programme dates?
Yes. We quote per site and book to your handover date, and we would rather turn work down than commit to a date we cannot hold.
